Above are Donna and Greg in the blue and red, Pat, and Michele & Marc.
We had a nice dinner at a restaurant right across the street from the anchorage they recommended for us. We could almost see the 20BUCK$ from our table! It was nice to see them one last time before we head further north. On Saturday, we motored past their front door!
On Saturday, we headed out early for a 55 mile run to Swansboro, NC. On the way we passed this building. It is the Tiara boat plant. I thought our friends Denny & Jean would like to see where their boat Miss Jewel was created!
A little further up the road, we see this sign! We’re wondering if it’s the local Red Necks that will be firing??? And if they will be firing at US??? Pat quickly took a look at the chart, and discovered we were entering the U.S. Military Camp LeJuene!. The chart guide also warned us that there are unexploded ordinances in the water way!! How comforting!!!
A little further along, and we see the remnants of tanks, jeeps, planes, etc. they were using for target practice.
A few miles later, and we make it safely to Caspers Marina, our stop for the night. A walk through town led us to some shops, and of course a place for ice cream! Back to the boat for dinner, and it’s now almost time for Pat & Marc to signal the sunset with their conchs!
Tomorrow, off to Morehead City, NC.
